The Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District (NENEDD) is partnering with the other development districts through their statewide association, the Nebraska Regional Officials Council (NROC), to improve broadband by closing the digital divide.  NENEDD Executive Director Thomas L. Higginbotham, Jr., said, “As a result of the pandemic, with the workforce working remotely and students of all ages, learning remotely has really elevated the need for highspeed reliable broadband in every Nebraska community.”

NROC announces the launch of a statewide broadband mapping initiative.  Every Nebraskan is encouraged to partake in the one-minute speed test from any internet-enabled device, including cell phones. Speed data will provide decision makers a better understanding of where internet accessibility is limited or not available, and where speeds are not meeting the needs of today’s users.  For more information, speed test results and the full NROC press release click here: NROC BROADBAND.
