The Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District (NENEDD) Council of Officials held its annual meeting and the Northeast Economic Development, Inc. (NED, Inc.) Board of Directors held its monthly board meeting on June 26, 2024.
Two business loans were approved this month at the NED, Inc. Board of Directors meeting.
The members of High Flyers Golf Bar, LLC, are planning the purchase of Mugs & Jugs bar located in Humphrey and will open a sports bar that will provide people in the area with a place to eat, drink and golf (utilizing a golf simulator) year-round no matter the weather. Also included in the purchase is a property across the street which will be used for a beer garden and to host special events.
The Tanning Place, LLC, located in Columbus, is being purchased and will offer seven high-quality tanning beds, a red-light therapy bed and one spray tan booth. They also offer retail sales of tanning essentials such as tanning lotions, tanning extenders, peepers, spray tan essentials and after tanning care products.
NENEDD Business Loan Specialist, Jeff Christensen, stated, “NED, Inc. assisted in the transition of The Tanning Place, LLC to a long-time employee who has worked there since it opened in 2015. The new owner will do a great job to continue the success of this business. NED, Inc. also provided financing to start the High Flyers Golf Bar in Humphrey which will offer a golf simulator. The three owners have an energetic approach to bringing this unique attraction to the northeast Nebraska area.”

NED, Inc. and NENEDD will hold their next meetings on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the Norfolk City Offices. NED, Inc.’s meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the NENEDD meeting to follow.
